Chinese New Year food - Welcome spring with Chinese New Year cracks


Tofu 300 g, minced pork 100 g, 3 dry shii-takes, 1 egg, 1 tea spoon of salt, 3 red chilis, 1 tea spoon of sugar, 1/3 tea spoon of white pepper powder, 1 tea spoon of rice flour, 1/2 tea spoon of sesame oil, 4 soup spoons of cooking oil, water 40 ml

  1. Put the dry shii-takes in some cold water. Wait for 2 hrs. Wash them carefully.
  2. Cut the red chilis and shii-takes into small bits. Cut the tofu into sticks.
  3. Mix the shii-takes, egg, 1/2 tea spoon of salt and minced pork. Mix the rice flour and water.
  4. Cook the cooking oil in a pan. Fry the tofu strips with moderate oven until they become golden. Take the tofu sticks out from the pan.
  5. Clip a hole on every tofu strip. Put some of the mixture of step 3 into every tofu stick.
  6. Steam the tofu sticks with a streamer. After the water in the streamer boils, steam with slow oven for 15 minutes. Move the tofu out from the steamer.
  7. Stir-fry the chili bits, 1/2 tea spoon of salt, sesame oil, sugar and pepper powder for 3 minutes with moderately quick oven. Pour the sauce of step 3 slowly into the pan. Stir-fry for 1 minute with moderately quick oven.
  8. Pour the chili mixture of step 7 on the tofu sticks.
